NERC licenses the distribution companies that run Nigeria's networks, and the NESIS Regulations set the transformer ratios and vector groups used across the country. We manufacture oil-immersed and dry-type distribution transformers and switchgear at our own factory in China, built to the ratio and vector group your project specifies.

In Short

Nigeria's electricity industry is regulated by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), which licenses both the distribution companies (DisCos) that supply end users and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the transmission licensee. The NESIS Regulations published by NERC list the IEC 60076 power-transformer series as normative references, and set 33/11 kV and 11/0.415 kV transformer ratios, with Dyn11 vector group for 11/0.415 kV distribution units. SONCAP, run by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, applies conformity assessment to regulated imports before shipment. We manufacture oil-immersed and dry-type distribution transformers from 20 to 2500 kVA, up to the 35 kV class, plus ring main units and low-voltage panels, at our own factory in China. Every transformer ships with its routine test report. A 200 kVA oil-immersed distribution transformer is USD 2215 EXW, and regular batch orders are produced in about 15 days after the drawing is confirmed.

Common Questions
Do you build to Nigerian standards?
Distribution transformers for Nigeria are built to the IEC 60076 series — the power-transformer reference listed in NERC's NESIS Regulations — and to the ratio and vector group you specify. NESIS names 11/0.415 kV with Dyn11 vector group for distribution units. Send your specification and we confirm the design before production starts.
What are the payment terms and the lead time?
Regular batch orders are produced in about 15 days after the drawing is confirmed. The minimum order is one unit. Terms are 30% advance and 70% before shipment, with a one-year warranty from shipment.
Can switchgear be supplied with the same order?
Yes. Ring main units and low-voltage panels, up to 35 kV, can be quoted and shipped with your transformer order so that freight is consolidated.
